Write About One Idea

One of the biggest mistakes that people make when they start creating content is trying to speak about too many ideas at once.
It can be tempting to fit as many things as possible into a single carousel (or a single article, LinkedIn post, atomic essay, or whatever else), but that’s a very quick way to both overwhelm yourself and your readers.
We want to show that we know what we’re talking about, but we often bite off more than we can chew. Posts claiming to be “The ULTIMATE Guide to Something” are cool, but they’re a recipe for writer’s block and overwhelm.
The solution to this is narrowing down your ideas.
One Post, One Idea
Instead of trying to stuff your content with everything you know about a subject, focus on one singular idea or concept.
Naturally, the thing you’re working on will expand as you write anyway, as what you’re writing inevitably triggers new avenues of thought.
Remember that your audience isn’t following you because they want to read a book’s worth of content. Instead, they want simple, straight-to-the-point advice.
Ultimate Guides are great, but not for every post. Work on the smaller pieces of content, then compile them into larger guides later down the line.
